The rise of Indian football.
Indian football has unbelievable potential. However we are talking about team occupied around 100-th place in FIFA rank. What about perspectives of development for this potentially big football market? What about Indian’s passion to sport and football?
India is one of the fastest growing football market. It is the country of huge perspective and enthusiasm. People love to watch football here. They are involved into it, they follow players, and they participate in a lot of surveys. According one of survey Waka Waka should be official FIFA song.
They are also talented players here; Ishan Pandita, Lallianzuala Chhangate, Sahal Abdul Samad and Liston Colaco have the huge passion to promote football and create friendly environment for future grow. Also professional football league was borned here. This is Indian Super League which is more and more popular between fans, and more and more supported by local business.
What’s more India need to raise their football to the top level? Promotion to World Cup looks like the only missing factor. However even in Asia qualification it looks like the task for a lot of years. Is it the simpler solution? Maybe organize World Cup? Is it possible? India is trying. For example with Woman’s U17 World Cup.
Enthusiasm is one thing ; second is governmental support and organization structures. There will be huge task to build it, but all good starts from people enthusiasm. It will be necessary to increase sport mentality inside the country, build the structure of amateur sport, build football clubs even in small cities.
But all good in the past starts from passion. More and more people here practice sport. Now not only cricket is so popular, the other sports are growing. And we can only support Indian people in the effort to make their football great.
